Mike's Gringo Life Show for April 17th

Posted by Mike Cobb on Apr 16, 2012 6:58:29 PM

This Tuesday’s radio show will feature all 4 of my favorite categories of expats. We’ll visit once again with Donna Tabor who heads up a Granada and Pittsburgh based NGO, Building New Hope. Donna as you may remember from last week was instrumental in establishing the Chavalos Café which was featured in an international documentary a few years ago.

After Donna we’ll talk with another Granada resident, John-Marc Gallegher. John-Marc and his wife Janice are expat entrepreneurs and have restored numerous old Spanish Colonial homes in Granada over the past 8 years. They also have a property management business and run a riding stable and farm a few miles outside of town.

In the second hour we’ll talk with Garry and Lynn Wright who are considering a move to Nicaragua for part of the year. As Canadians, lets take a guess which part of the year they plan to be in Nicaragua. Garry’s brother Murray owns a home in Nicaragua at Gran Pacifica and enjoys a fantastic beach and golf style retirement. Garry and Lynn are still deciding and we’ll ask them about the kinds of considerations and factors going into that decision.

Also, we have Amanda back for the weekly Expat Kids segment. Amanda will be interviewing her friend Maddie Kelleher from McLean Virginia. This was Maddie’s second trip down to visit and she is now planning a trip back next year to work with Girl Scouts in Nicaragua on a reforestation project. As you’ll see from the picture, she enjoyed some pottery making as well.
