Gran Pacifica Resort Beach Community
Setting a Higher Standard with New Urbanism

Gran Pacifica Resort (GRP) is currently the largest property of ECI Development with clear title to over 3.5 miles (6 km) of beach frontage on the Pacific Coast of Nicaragua, 42 miles west of the capital city of Managua. The property includes 2,512 acres of rangeland with an average depth of 1.1 miles. To date, over $19 million have been invested in land, architectural designs, permits, civil engineering work and infrastructure. Phase 1 infrastructure is complete. 24 Spanish Colonial homes are complete and numerous more are under construction. The first 22 condos (Las Perlas) are finished, 56 more are under construction (Milagro del Mar). A beach club, bar and restaurant are now serving residents and guests alike.
Golf
18 holes of golf are under construction with the first 9 holes open for play in December 2009. Under the direction of Tommy Haugen, rolling rangeland by the sea was transformed into a spectacular golf course with 4 holes out of the first 9 playing to, along, or away from the ocean. Views and direct ocean play at Gran Pacifica’s golf course will be unparalleled in Nicaragua and rival many of the best courses in the region for challenge and beauty.
One of the key ways to drive value to property off the ocean is by building amenities that create a desirable address. There are many ways to do this from equestrian centers, to commercial areas, to parks, to golf. Gran Pacifica will utilize these and others over time, but immediately, golf is the prime method of driving value off ocean and creating a prized amenity for residents and visitors alike.
Tommy Haugen has created the Pacifica Golf Club by transforming rolling range land by the sea into a spectacular ocean play course. His skill for utilizing the natural beauty of the property and harmonizing it with the need for a challenging course are demonstrated in the course opening December 1, 2009. The following photos highlight the construction process during the past two years.
