Wheelchair Donation

Social responsibility is one of many priorities for Gran Pacifica, and every year we are tackling more projects. One of the largest and most successful projects to-date is the new Roberto Clemente III Clinic! The grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for the clinic just took place on June 17th.

In honor of the inauguration ceremony, Gran Pacifica donated 15 wheelchairs to people in the community who were needing them most. The selection process was based on the severity of the patients’ impairments and their limitations. In August, Gran Pacifica has plans to donate more wheelchairs to others who live in surrounding communities. In total, 270 wheelchairs will be donated this year!

This year, $24,000 was collected for this wonderful cause. It was all made possible due to the generous donation of Gran Pacifica and NuView IRA along with the Managua-Tiscapa Rotary Club. The beneficiaries will include children and adults with different medical disorders that affect their mobility and restrict their daily activities.

Last year, Gran Pacifica along with the Managua-Tiscapa Rotary Club, through a donation from Glen Mather and his company, NuView IRA, initiated “Chair the Love” project. There were 105 wheelchairs distributed in different regions of Nicaragua. All of these wheelchairs have created huge improvements in the lives of impaired individuals.

Gran Pacifica's staff would like to thank all of those involved with the wheelchair donations and everyone who contributed to this great cause. Many lives have been changed for the better and we plan to continue working for the benefit of our communities for many years to come!
