I drink a lot of water living in Nicaragua and I am always looking for ways to make it more interesting.
I have put lemon slices or mint in my water, which is very refreshing. Lately I have been slicing up cucumbers and adding them to ice cold water and it is really enjoyable.
Cucumbers have vitamin k in them, which helps your bones retain calcium. They are also full of antioxidants.
Slice fresh cucumbers
Add to cold water
Chill for 1 hour and drink

1 pound medium-small shrimp, peeled and deveined and boiled for 1 minute juice from 4-6 limes
1 cup finely chopped red onion
1 chile pepper, seeds removed, minced
1 cup chopped cilantro
1 cucumber, peeled diced into 1/2-inch pieces
1 avocado, peeled, seed removed, cut into 1/2-inch chunks
salt to taste
